West Ivanhoe Sporting Club

EXPERIENCE was high on West Ivanhoe’s recruiting checklist for our senior cricket caption/coach and the club has landed one of its key targets.

The West Ivanhoe United Cricket Club is excited to announce that Michael Butera will make West Ivanhoe his home, with Mike taking on the Club’s Head Coach and Club Captain responsibilities for season 2016-17.

Mike comes to West Ivanhoe with Premier Cricket experience at Carlton and Essendon and most recently successful stints at Westmeadows and Greensborough Cricket Clubs.

The evergreen batsman played 122 games for Carlton and 17 for Essendon. His experience, ability, leadership and impeccable character will be a terrific asset to the club going forward.

The Roosters made a gallant run to the finals last year under the stewardship of George Karatzas, we thanks George for stepping up to the plate and putting the club first.

Mike is incredibly excited to be at the Rooster and is looking forward to working with an enthusiastic and talented playing group along with our successful junior program. Mike will endeavour to contact all senior players in the coming weeks to introduce himself and confirm both individual and team ambitions for this season.

Seeking donations of prizes (major & minor) for a Fundraising Raffle to be drawn at Club Family Day in September

The raffle is our major earner on the day.  But we need the help of club members who may be able to donate prizes or have contacts (business or personal) in the community who may be able to donate a prize for our raffle.

Any donors of prize we be acknowledged as the prize sponsor on the raffle tickets.

Please contact us via email by the 18th June if you or someone you know is able to donate a prize for our raffle. We hope to distribute tickets to our families in early July so we can sell as many tickets as possible for the draw in September.

All money raised will go towards the new netball courts at Seddon Reserve. We have a target of $50,000 (as our contributtion) and we have already raised $25,000 and have an additional $10,000 in sponsorship. That means we only need another $15,000 to reach our contribution to the cost of the new courts.

We are hoping to raise the remaining funds via this raffle and other activities on our Family Day.
