Proudly awarded the NFNL's "Junior Club of the Year" in 2022, the West Ivanhoe Roosters strongly believe sport can bring people in the local community together who otherwise would never have met. As a community-based junior footy club, we cater for families from Ivanhoe, West Ivanhoe, Bellfield, Fairfield and surrounding suburbs.
Our Club’s values are to provide our young footballers with an opportunity to:
- have fun;
- develop their skills;
- participate in a team sport in an inclusive, family-based environment;
- build a culture of respect towards participants, officials, families and spectators alike.
The West Ivanhoe Roosters are based at Seddon Reserve in Ivanhoe and play in the Northern Football Netball League.
Being a community club, we can only operate with a team of dedicated volunteers. As such we welcome and encourage parents and friends to actively participate on the committee, in specific supporting roles and assisting on each game day.

FREE PRE-SEASON TRAINING CLINICS
- 5:00pm - 6:00pm: Under 9's /10's (mixed)
- 5:30pm - 6:30pm: Under 11's/12's (mixed), Under 13's (girls only)
- 6:30pm - 7:45pm: Under 13's and up
NAB Auskick makes learning to play AFL fun, safe and easy for boys and girls. It is a limited contact program, and through weekly coaching sessions kids will learn the skills of the game in an exciting, social and safe environment. Kids aged 5 through to 12 are eligible to join Auskick, however most kids choose to move to Junior footy at the age of 7-8 into the Under 9's.
Based at our home ground at Seddon Reserve, our Auskick program is the perfect introduction to footy skills. Our team of dedicated coaches focus on fun, respect and teamwork. With sausage sizzles and freshly made barista coffee available, our Auskick program is the place to be every Saturday morning during the footy season.

In 2023, the Roosters will be fielding Junior Football teams from Under 9’s through to Under 15’s. Depending on age group, there is limited contact, modified rules, and reduced ground size. While many of our players come through the Auskick program, we welcome new players into all age groups.

The West Ivanhoe Roosters Junior Football Club participates in the Northern Football Netball League (NFNL).
We welcome boys and girls from the ages of 7* and up to join our Junior footy club.
*To be eligible to play Junior Football in 2023, players must have turned 7 by April 30 2023.
